Match Mate Rookie

The Match Mate Rookie is the only wheel driven machine especially engineered and designed for the USTA's and ITF's 10 and Under Program.

Tested and Approved for the red, orange and green stage balls. The Rookie is perfect for stroke develoment and safe for children over 5 years old.

From baseline to baseline on the 36' court! Installable legs increases elevation 10 degrees. 

The Rookie ball delivery speed tops out at 25 MPH with the stage 1 (green balls) and is automatically lower with the stage 2 and 3 balls.

Great for the courts or at home in the yard or driveway.  Battery will last up to 5-6 hours w/o charging. 

The Matemate rookie holds up to 70 balls.

Red foam and red felt:

For kids 8 years old and under, a red ball moves slower through the air, bounces lower and travels less distance.

Orange ball:

For kids 9 & 10 years old, an orange low-compression, ball moves a little faster and travels farther than the ball used with the younger group but still has a lower bounce than the standard yellow ball.

Green ball:

For kids ages 10-12 years old. As children become more accomplished with their strokes and tactics, they can move to the full-sized court and use the green ball, which is slightly lighter and slower-moving than a yellow ball, giving children more time to get to and return shots

The Rookie was designed for beginners.  Young budding tennis stars need to develop their strokes sets, so no oscillation is installed. There is no need to be running from side to side and not working on the basics.  The second feature for skill development that the Rookie offers is the triple threat of elevation, ball delay options and a ball speed ranges from 10 mph to 25 mph.  The third skill development is the addition of heavy topspin at 25 mph.

The rechargeable battery allows for up to five hours of continuous play time. With an aluminum outer shell and urethane pitching wheels, the Rookie is ready for years of use. All internal components are made from high-grade aluminum or steel.

Using the Rookie requires nothing more than positioning the machine on the tennis court, setting the ball speed and feed, and turning it on.  The Rookie will kindly wait ten seconds before it starts throwing balls, allowing the user to get in position.  The heavy-duty battery ensures that the user will wear out long before the ball machine does.
